Your llms.txt can break during a theme update and nobody would tell you. LLMs Ledger lists your file in a public directory, checks it on a schedule, and emails you when something goes wrong.

The directory

The LLMs Ledger directory is a public list of websites that publish an llms.txt file, 156 of them so far. Each listing has its own page with the site's score, its file, when we last checked it and when it last changed, grouped by industry and linking back to the site.

Listing is free with our small badge on your site, or included in any paid plan without the badge.

The monitoring

Publishing the file is step one. Keeping it working is the part most people miss. A plugin change or a site move can replace your llms.txt with an error page that still loads in a browser, so it looks fine at a glance. AI tools get a web page instead of your text file.

Questions

That https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt still loads as a plain text file (not an error page or your home page), that it still follows the llms.txt format, its score out of 100, what changed since the last check, and, on Nightly, that every link in it still works.

Most breaks come from something else on the site: a theme or plugin update, a security or caching plugin, a CDN rule, or a site move. The browser still shows a page at /llms.txt, so it looks fine unless someone checks what's actually there.

Every 3 months on Free, every month on Monthly ($9/mo), and every night on Nightly ($19/mo) and Agency ($79/mo per 10 sites).

No. We read the file you publish, the same way anyone can. We never change it and never see your site's admin.

We can't promise that, and nobody honestly can: each AI company decides what it reads. What we can do is make sure the file you publish is correct and still working.
